School Dances

Nope! My school did have a sorta school dance but it was during school hours so no one felt left out etc. I went to a more...special education school than a normal public school most of my childhood.

I went to my senior prom. Nice venue, boring night though. I went with a friend and her date.

I went to one with a friend. It was boring. All us girls mostly just stood around. Not long before we decided to go some guys asked us to dance and we literally ran away. XD

Why? They asked you to partake in an activity you (I assume willingly, without being forced) came to. Why did you even go to the dance if you had no intention of dancing, but opted to run away when someone willing to dance asked you to? :confused2:

I guess I just got scared or nervous. I never had danced before. Closest I ever came to dancing is Dance Dance Revolution.

We never had them. I wouldn't have gone anyway. Not my scene.

Seriously, though, what's so cool about dancing? I don't get it. Okay, sure, it's a skill, a talent not everyone possess nor is able to master, but why are humans who are able and willing to master it celebrated? How exactly does their talent contribute to the survival of the human race? Are they going to dance the global warming away? End wars, injustice and poverty by moving their hips to the beat of a music? What exactly is their talent good for aside from boosting their own egos?

How come no one praises scientists and other medical experts when they discover a cure for an infectious disease? Sure, their names might get mentioned in some obscure papers, but no one is going to say "thank you" to them. At the same time, dancers and other posers are going to continue reaping all the glory.

For fun?

Lol, it doesn't. It's just an activity for fun and to pass the time. Just like posting on a forum.

They do get praised and people do say thank you to them
