Without explorers we'd still be living in caves, lol. Exploration is about satisfying that need to roam, to experience as much of life as possible and running with it. We don't all have that gene, but the ones that do seem to live pretty remarkable lives!
Boredom maybe. That's a motivating factor for way too many things. You can say the same for coming to this forum and interacting with people here. Or joining a club or something; Doing nothing is not ideal for most people, so you find anything to fill that time with.

Thats what I plan on doing! I do love space imagery, I have an astronaut avatar, a painting of the moon landing in my room, etc. but I will never go there.
