What are the advantages and disadvantages of reading on an e-reading device, such as a Kindle or iPad?

Advantage: something to do besides twiddle your thumbs while you're waiting in the 'waiting room'; or using 'mass' transit.
Disadvantage: if your battery dies.

You could still do that with a regular book, assuming you remember to bring one with you.

Very, very true! But e-tablets are so cool & handy.

In fact, I happened to notice a lady doing that not too long ago in a waiting room. I HAD to walk over to her on my way by to comment that 'nobody does that any more'. Fortunately she was very good-natured about the comment.
