What effect do you think video games have on people’s mental health?

Positive, negative, or neutral?

Positive. I feel like video games helped take my mind off of my issues from when I was a teen boy.

Same, I use video games to de-stress most of the time. They help, they're cathartic.

Absolutely positive. I'm a gamer myself and I thoroughly enjoy being immersed into a different world with a great story and characters who develop over the course of the game. I'm not huge on games that don't tell a story, but every now and then I'll throw in GTA and drive around at high speeds, crashing into pedestrians, making my way to 4-5 stars and heading to the airport so the police and SWAT can chase me!

Positive. I did so much research into the benefits of gaming on mental health for a paper it's practically impossible for me to try and think otherwise. XD

I agree with you on this. I feel happier when I play games unlike when I am unable to play the games that I like. So, I have this belief that gaming is good.

They actually make people USE their brains, so its a positive thing.

I believe video games have a positive effect on mental health if I am honest. I play video games myself to unwind and relax when I am stressed or just not feeling myself and it always helps with my mental health. It's a shame that people still look at gaming as though it is a bad thing and that people who do play video games are lazy as it is very much the opposite and helps so many people.
