Thoughts on Homosexuality?

^^^That was hard to read.
I'm sorry to trouble you, but I felt it important you know what it is like from this side.

Reading some of the replies in this thread make me ashamed to share the Earth with some of you. Religion rules the world in the absolute worst ways. If not for religion, none of the loud mouthed bigots we see all the time would say anything, because they wouldn't care. Some people can claim all they want that "religion teaches to love everyone", but that's not true. The entire argument bigots use is religion, religion and religion. NEVER ONCE has someone thought homosexuality was wrong because they came to that view themselves. Religion is what taught them that gay people are wrong. I will say, for the older older generation who are still alive, I somewhat understand it, change is hard.

However, if you're still young, hell even in your 40s-50s, there is no reason at all for you to be homophobic. It's baffling to me how people can legitimately hate someone for their sexual preference when said person's preference does not in any goddamn way affect their life. Bigots are a joke, and do not deserve to walk this earth with the rest of us. Accept everyone, or don't be part of the population. Human rights is not a "touchy" subject or even a difficult one.

We are now talking more and more about mental health, well, your bigoted ass telling a gay person he/she is "wrong" for loving another of the same gender doesn't help the mental health situation at all! So many gay people have taken their own life because of the hate. Grow the fuck up, stop being a hateful waste of space.

I hope everyone realizes that Naiwen isn't going to reply. All she does is make hundreds of one off posts on dozens and dozens of forums and never follows up, except to reply her herself. :bored:

I don't expect her to. Sometimes she makes pretty decent topics (usually about more light hearted subjects about things like food, TV shows, etc). As long as the rest of us members get to have a good conversation then its no biggie if she doesn't come back and reply. I appreciate members making new threads either way.

I am an experienced poster. I know what happens when you get into a "debate" with staff members. They have the power to edit, delete, lock threads, and ban. As an ordinary member I have none of that. As to Naiwen, she is just playing it smart and won't get into it with staff members either.

We're pretty down to earth and laid back. Staff title or not we're all just having a conversation here. Our moderator/admin tools have dust all over them because they hardly ever get used.

Spat out my Diet Coke in laughter reading this, thanks ;)

So I think it's important to say right off the bat that trans is not just putting on clothes and saying we are women or trans men saying they are men. We were born biologically as male in the case of trans women and none of us denies or hides that. We can't change it, and most of us have obvious physical features because of having to endure male puberty. So, yes, we fully acknowledge what we were born as, and that for most of us we will always stick out like a sore thumb, but that is a price we have to pay to feel just a small fraction like the person we are and should have been.

I'm not delusional, I know I can't magically become a biological woman, it's not possible, but with medication and surgery I can get as close as science allows to feeling at home in my own skin. That is what trans is about for 95% of us. We think, act, feel and relate perfectly with women, because we are female-brained people in male bodies, and same for trans men, male brained people in female bodies. Are there some trans people that take it too far, loose sight of who they are to focus on the fantasy? Of course there are, but those are the outliers, and sadly that is more common to see stories about, because for the vast majority of us we just want to live our lives and be ourselves. We don't want to force people to accept us, we don't want to explode at everyone that misgenders us or uses our old name, we don't even want to make people uncomfortable by using public restrooms.or locker rooms. We just want to live, the same as anyone else, we just happen to be trans and happen to need to live as we truly are.

We live every day of our lives hating ourselves, our brains screaming at us we will never be normal, never fit in, we look ridiculous and everyone is going to laugh at as. Then we get people who yell the same things to draw maximum attention to themselves and us. It's a daily struggle to get out of bed and face the world that, invariably, hates us. We see ourselves in the mirror and have a breakdown. It hurts to see our own skin, hurts to be so far removed from who we are.

We're not looking to pretend to be anything, we just want to feel a little bit more comfortable in our skin and not be treated with hatred and disgust because of it.

Who cares what your sexual preference is? Keep it in the closet with the rest of your dirty laundry.

I don't go running around announcing to everyone that I'm straight so why do gay people feel that they have to do that? 😒

Grow the fuck up, stop being a hateful waste of space.
^^^Now it begins, just as I predicted it would. By the way who is hating? Just because I'm not accepting doesn't mean that I hate. The only one hating on this thread is you.

That sounds a bit hypocritical....

I don't think that was aimed at you, specifically. We've kept a good eye on things so far, to keep this as level-headed as we can. Civil discourse, as the name suggests, should be civil

Even if it was generic the name calling and character assassination of so called "homophobes" has begun. He has chosen to target a group because of his prejudice towards them. He has labelled anyone who doesn't see things his way as this or that, and that we ought not to inhabite this world or words to that effect.

I again call on you not to delete, or water down (edit) any posts that you do not like. (I have had this happen to my posts on several occasions on other forums, mostly political posts) Case in point a mod on here deleted his post on a thread that I was on in order not to appear foolish. This of course made my former post seem odd and I had to go back and edit it.

No posts shall be removed and I shall strive to ensure we're keeping the name calling and pettiness to a minimum. As I said, I want views from all sides, it's important for healthy discussion.

It is, but I don't care. Bigots do not deserve any sympathy or nice treatment, especially when they are so quick to shit on someone for their life choices. It is not hard at all to keep your personal opinion to yourself and be nice. These people choose to be hateful, they choose to call gay people the three letter f word. Don't give two shits about their feelings. It's 2023, there's no excuse for still being a bigot.

While I wish we lived in a more tolerant society, the fact is we don't, people have views that they feel strongly about, and while we find them hateful and bigoted, it's important they're free to express those views. That's where learning happens. Look what happened earlier in this thread. I know LBJ isn't a fan of trans people, and I'm ok with that, I asked for his views and asked if he'd hear mine. I hope, by hearing what being trans is actually like, he's learned we're just normal people who have no choice but to pursue the course of action we take. Will everyone change their mind through civil discourse? Of course not, but the ability to have that conversation, where viewpoints we don't agree with have a level platform for legitimate discourse, not just hate speech, and then we can talk and share and hopefully grow. This is how I see this issue, oh, well I can see you don't actually have much exposure to this issue, so please let me share my experience and understanding so you can have a better idea. That's where we should be. No, we're not completely there and hatred still permeates (I face it daily), but if we solve hatred by shutting it down, it just festers it doesn't go away.

The irony of your claims about being targeted is honestly hilarious. For the record, while I wasn't targeting you specifically, I'm targeting ALL homophobes. You are not a protected class, nor do you get to play the victim card. You haven't had your rights violently attacked by people who have no business what so ever getting involved. You haven't been physically attacked because you chose to be gay. You have no room what so ever to try and play the victim card.

I will happily admit I'm prejudice against bigots. Bigots are wrong. Always have been, always will be. Being kind to one another isn't difficult, yet, for some reason people think it's okay to attack someone simply because they are a guy who likes a guy. This isn't a case of "not liking that someone doesn't agree". If I said whole milk was good and someone said skim milk was better, I'm not going to argue with them because to each their own. We all have our preference.

This is a case of refusing to acknowledge someone's personal choice and hating on them for it. As I said, people have committed suicide because of bigotry. There's no justfiying that, no making you out to be the victim. Bigots are the perpetrators, they are the attackers.

To the mods, sorry not sorry. I love having respectful debates, but I draw the line at ignorant people who act like someone's personal life choice greatly impacts them. I won't reply in this thread further.

That is a true gift because no one wants to see you crap your pants or have a nervous breakdown. You buddy are one for the books, a real drama queen if there ever was one. You see punk, name calling can go both ways.;)

This thread has become a fascinating case study in the pot calling the kettle a "bigot" and not only knows it is doing it, it is proud of the fact and continues to do so beyond any rational reasoning.

I believe that it has gone far beyond the logical extreme of hypocritical and is, in fact, dancing on the line between the aforementioned realm of the "drama queens" and somewhere in that neverland of "trollism".

For the record: @LBJ is not banned, he simply changed his username to @Banned & scrambled his email to essentially “ban” himself I suppose.

@LBJ if you’re reading this as a guest and want to come back one day after you’ve cooled off a bit, feel free to send an email to [email protected] if you need any assistance.

I don't care if you're gay and want marry/be with your male partner, but don't shove it down my throat personally please. What I hate personally is the gays that impose their views on it and accuse everyone of "homophobia." What about you? What do you think of homosexuality in your eyes?
We don't shove the fact that you're a bad singer down your throat so why are you so concerned for the LGBT+ community?
