Meg 2: The Trench (2023)

The subtitle of the movie, The Trench, confirms that there will be a return to the Mariana Trench where the first megalodon came from, which could lead to much bigger monsters than just the sharks. If The Meg 2 follows Alten's original sequel novel then the film will see Jonas encountering a fearsome Kronosaurus.

I thought the badly done giant CGI shark looked super fake. I couldn't take the movie seriously.

What I don't get is that Jason Statham will play in this dumpster fire of a movie, but he won't join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I don’t think this is the type of movie to take seriously

My friend who saw this and liked the first said this was horrible though. So I’m guessing it’s a lot worse.

Perhaps. He did get some back lash over his opinions from the actors that are in the MCU.
