If you're staffing at forum and didn't want to do it anymore, would you rather quit or get fired?

If you wanted to get fired, what would you do to make that happen?

Have you ever quit a staff position on a forum? Why?

Have you ever been fired from a staff position on a forum? Why?

I've quit and been fired from staff roles before on forums, sites, etc. Fired either for being too inactive, not able to commit, etc.

I prefer to quit than be fired. I don't like to make a scene :D

I was a moderator on a forum a long time ago, only one time. I quit because I didn't like the owner/administrator after a while.

I'd much rather quit if I disliked the owner too. I'll admit even in the way past I'd have enough of an owners attitude or personality, then snap.

I've only been fired from staff once in my entire career. I've stepped down on many forums where I was a moderator at. I think a lot of it was because those communities were pretty dead and I didn't see the point anymore.

I've TRIED to quit as a co-admin due to health reasons, but my resignation was not accepted. I eventually got back into 'action'. Now the forum is closed; but that's as it should be, because it was one of those once active but dead/dying forums anyhow.

I've had this happen, too. It's flattering, but also annoying lol

I would quit, getting myself fired sounds like too much drama to deal with.

If I did want to get myself "fired" I suppose I'd just choose easiest path, which would be deleting my avatar, signature, any profile information and never logging back in there. Eventually they'd remove me from the staff due to inactivity.

Yeah, the reason was because this forum (Off Topix) is the priority and when it gets real busy around here I just don't have the time to be staffing on another forum.

Have you ever been fired from a staff position on a forum? Why?

Nope.

I've never been fired from a staff position before and I'd rather just step down instead. I feel if you got fired for some reason or another, you might not be part of the staff team again at the forum you got fired from.

I'm gonna be an annoying bitch and keep re-promoting you if you try step down on SCF. Serves ya right for being the chatty bitch who's so easy to talk to and everyone loves :p

Keeping someone on staff against their will is bad, mmmkay :P

I think ppl will remember even if you step down in unpleasant circumstances. A bit like a job - makes no difference, really

She doesn’t have access to the ACP so she can’t go around deleting members and forums :p hehe

Or permanently delete posts. Only admins can do that. Mods can only hide posts hehe

Wow you really don't trust her if you think she'd be doing that.

I didn't know there was concern I would do any of those things...

I am sorry @~ True Legend ~ thinks you're capable of such destruction. I know you'd never do anything like that.

@Nebulous doesn't trust you clearly :p

I was saying keeping people on staff against their will is bad in general, I wasn't talking about the horrific things you mentioned. You filled in those blanks with your own imagination. :P
