Insane asylum or prison?

Which would you rather be in, an insane asylum or prison? Why?

Insane asylums are worse than prisons. For one, you can't get out of the asylum once you're in. At least with prison you get a chance at parole and the rest of your sentence suspended because prisons are over crowded. Secondly, prisoners who are sane that go to an asylum endure years of mental and emotional trauma from the crazies, eventually driving them mad.

In fairness it had recently been converted from one, but yeah, technically I was born in an insane asylum
