Pets vs people

Well...I can only speak for myself, but animals hold much more value in my life than people in general. Of course I love my family and friends, but I hold my pets as high a value as I do a member of the family.
Not a people person so it's animals for me. Animals don't judge you, animals don't cheat, lie or steal. If they hurt or kill you then it's in self defence rather than just for the hell of it. Neither do they harm other animals just because of the colour of their fur/scales/feathers.

I do think that some people get carried away with extravagant spending on their pets; but I also think that we all need to be responsible to provide the best quality food, comfort, living conditions and health-care that we can.

I mean, it's people's money. They can do whatever they want with it. I don't have any animals. If I did I would do right by them and people in need because people, excluding the jerks/karens/etc, and animals both are important.
The only people in need that I support are the ones in my inner circle (my daughter and my partner), and because I help them out they aren't really in need. 
I'll help someone else out, sure, but probably not financially. The other day I saw an older lady at costco struggling to lift a 40 pack of bottled water. I offered to put it in her basket for her.

Moral doesn't really come into play. Ultimately, it's your money. You can spend it however you want without feeling guilty, because it's your life. If someone wanted to spend millions on their pet, I think it's weird, but applaud them. It's not my life, none of my business. No one has any right to try playing the "well so and so is starving on the street, they could have used that money" guilt card.
Absolutely! I rarely go out and socialize or see people. My dog is my only companion.

Err, who are you?
Well that depends. I mean yes, I will spend money on my cat and make sure she is up to date with vaccinations and what not but I'm not about to buy her a thousand dollar cat wall/tree and toys. As with people, yes I do tend to help people who struggle with money though I only tend to help those who are wanting to help themselves and who are trying to change their situations. Those who want money just to spend it on unnecessary things I don't tend to give money. Though, I have some friends who had been struggling and needed some extra money and I had no issues giving them a helping hand. I feel that animals can't support themselves so if you decide to have an animal it is your responsibility to make sure you take good care for them and you spend the necessary money for your animal to live a happy healthy life. And though humans can be self-reliant and can have their own jobs get their own incomes sometimes people fall into hard times, and they also deserve a break or some help but for the most part they should be able to budget and work with money. I have no pitty for those who spend now and worry later or those who will spend on silly stupid things.
I've actually had a friend who in the past I would lend him money or help him when he was going through a difficult time. But he then got a girlfriend who spends her and his money foolishly and though he had asked me to lend him money, and she has asked me too, I refused because I knew the money was going to go to something that was unnecessary and though they said they ``needed`` the money in my opinion it was more that they wanted something rather than needed something.

For me, morality doesn't play a part here. Like it or not, other people's struggles are not my concern nor my problem/responsibility. I don't know them, I'm not their caretaker. This also borders into trying to tell other people what they can/can't or should/shouldn't spend their money on. If people want to spend their money on those in need, awesome! If not, and that money is used to buy their dog a $200 fancy bed, awesome as well! It's their money and their life. We have zero obligations to strangers.
Because of how harsh that last sentence is, I want to clarify here. I'm not heartless to other's struggles, or never lend a helping hand. I will help others - even financially - in the right time and situation, but there's no obligation for me or anyone else to.
