What causes you to lose interest in a forum you've been posting on?

if there's no stimulating conversation and all the members do are play games and do daily check-ins

there's nothing wrong with it, it's part of the forum, but debates, daily questions, you know.. it all counts

I have a few reasons. But the main reason why I have lose interest in the past is that there are not enough people that I vibe with.

Yeah the ppl make a community 😻

Being either within your own age group is healthy too. Hanging out where everyone else is either younger or older than you is awkward. I don’t mind mixed age groups though, as I thrive in diverse environments, just great to have some who are at a similar life stage too

Lack of activity/content, staff members that no longer care, spamming/trolling/flaming going on, finding communities that better suit my needs, etc.

I also want to add when you have a general forum with news, music, tv, movies, sport, etc, and all that people post to is the forum games section. it really drives me mad. I don't mind forum games, but if that's all you want to post, create a game forum

Agree with this! Some people from the paid poster communities are cool though. A lot of them have trouble with English so that can make it difficult to chat with them.

I agree with a lot of what is said above, but also I'd like to add, I don't really like posting on sites that become different in the membership base, in that they start attacking the beliefs I have. I don't see a reason to stick around on places like that, even though there is nothing wrong with them having different beliefs. I just prefer not to have to constantly defend myself.

Or they attack you personally for anything you do. Or even sometimes you're not allowed to change from earlier opinion on something..

When the community becomes inactive, and negative and the staff doesn't put enough effort to bring a change into it and make it better, that's the moment when I lose interest in a community. A community shall always be positive, warm, and welcoming in nature.
