What do you look for when choosing wall colours for your home?

Do you stick with what's trendy, or do you go with colours that you personally love?

For those who are renting and can’t paint their walls, what colour would you choose if you had the chance?

I haven't done that since I was a kid. I'd probably just go purple lol.

I guess you like purple. :)
As for me, I can't paint my walls with my favourite colours.
I don't think yellow would look good maybe for a while, but eventually, it would be too much to look at. :p

I like good, old standard off-white; doesn't clash with anything. :)

My bedroom carpet is purple lol.

True, it is good, and you don't need to worry about matching with anything.(y)

I have my walls painted grey now, and everything goes with it. In pictures, it sometimes looks like there's a hint of blue.
I have a feature wall in every room because I never had them before, but next time I paint the house, I'll remove them.

A purple carpet sounds nice :)

I think stronger colours can look great on the floor.

Purple also looks good on walls because there are so many shades, and it can look great if done well
Yellow, on the other hand, is tricky.

There are many shades, but it can be overwhelming. Only if go as light as possible with just a hint of yellow. Purple, however, can handle darker shades too.

I think our kitchen is/was[?] light yellow. I can't remember lol.

:) IMO grey is very good, too; a neutral color that will not clash with anything.

Long, long ago & far, far away ( ) there was a smallish but scary grease-fire in my kitchen.
The kitchen cabinets & drawer fronts were painted a rather dark copper color. There was some smoke-damage so I had them repainted a light, bright, sunny yellow.
Made such a difference!!! I liked that so much better! (y)
