As we all know, WordPress is known for its notoriously slow loading times. I tried everything from avoiding landing pages to serving scaled images, but to no avail.
Someone suggested me to combine images with CSS sprites, but I have no idea what that means.

I was wondering if anyone of you could help me out by giving some tips on increasing the loading times of WP.

Honestly, WordPress can be awful for loading times sometimes especially if you start using premium themes and plugins. What type of site do you have?

I never had that much long times, but then again used free :P

I've never had a probably with WordPress loading slow.

I hate it when something loads slow. It irritates me to no end.

You also have to take the server speed into account, it isn't always just wordpress' fault.

Definitely something to consider. I remember being with GoDaddy and WordPress was extremely slow when you had a few plugins. Moved over to another host and the speed improve massively.

I used to run an old vBulletin forum on Godaddy back in 2007 and the speed was god awful, that was back on vBulletin 3.6/3.7 so yeah......pretty bad IMO. Definitely gotta take your host and server speeds and stuff into account, i serve 2 wordpress blogs on my current host and the speeds are fine.

What theme do you use? Maybe theme is slow. Try change it and see what happend.
How many plugins you have? You don't need everything.
Use cache clean plugins and check what will happend.

What is a good server speed standards nowadays?

Maybe in the future i could set up a new community again.

Choose SSD drivers or even better NMvE tech. I already write here about it. NMvE is even faster than SSD and HDD can't even be compared with it.
