Words do hurt because if someone is going through something and you say the wrong thing, it could affect them. For example, someone with bad eating habits for stress reasons and then calling them fat is going to cause them more stress and in turn, eat more.

I think words do hurt.

I had someone tell me I looked miserable at my job and walked off. Well, I was unhappy that day in particular because this was right after my grandma passed away and I guess it showed on my face. I wasn't trying to be miserable at work on purpose.....I try to keep my work stuff at work and my home stuff at home. I try not to mix the two but I guess I was unable to that particular day.

I do believe that the wrong usage of words can hurt other people's feelings. It is like a sharp knife that can put people in deep pain.
