What are some games a person could play on a computer that require you to think?

I remember a game called Myst that was intended to be a very challenging game that required the use of logic and deductive skills. It had to do with looking for clues and piecing them together to solve a mystery. I never played it much, but I know a lot of people enjoyed it.

A bit of a curveball, but Dino Crisis without using a guide was pretty cool with working out the door codecs and stuff. The last few are pretty tough, I have a feeling I caved with the last one..

I really need to give it another playthrough at some point. It's a fine game!

Played this on the PS1, the game required so much thinking and writing down I gave up. It wasn't worth the headaches.
