You’re at someone’s house, and there’s no toilet paper when you’ve already sat down and got busy- what do you do?

You don't? Earlier generations loved taking newspapers and books but that's now changed to smartphones.

No. Hey, maybe that's why earlier generations took newspapers with them. Sure would come in handy in this situation. :P
 
I have been known to tear apart and use the cardboard tube from the centre of the toilet paper roll, not ideal but worked in a desperate situation.

You can always use your hand and wash it, assuming there is soap there at least. Again, not ideal and probably considered 'gross' by the societies most of us live in, but many people around the world do exactly that every time they go and do their business and are just fine with it.
