When someone keeps looking your way, do you get nervous and try to get out of their eye sight?

Yes, I have social anxiety issues, so I can't stand being the center of attention in any respect, I even hate birthdays and christmas because people look at me. I try to get away from people quickly if they're looking in my direction.

What I do is smile and wave. It usually puts them off or makes them realize what they're doing,

I am not scared of being stared at by strangers. I will look back the same way he or she does. I am not easily intimidated because of my strong personality.
