Since I am as busy as a bee, I have to say no to any invitations. If I think it is important, then I will consider it. There is nothing wrong with turning down an invitation.
 
I'm not a all yes person. if an invitation does not sit well with me I turn it down . it just me
 
That depends on the nature of the event or the host who invited me. Also, if I am busy, I will say no to an invitation.

I cannot explain it why, but I started to keep on saying no for invitation as I grow older.

No. That is not a good etiquette.
I guess for some occasions in my country. It is not good to reject it, especially if they are close relatives.
