Do your gums bleed when you brush?

My gums are very sensitive, sadly. I had a bad habit when I went through my late teens and early 20s of basically letting my health deteriorate because I couldn't see a future for myself and it ruined a lot of things for me, including my dental health and my gumline. Now when I brush my gums always bleed, consistently.

My gums do not bleed. They are healthy and look good. I have good dental hygiene.

I read that bloody gums is a symptom of sleep apnea. No matter how much I brush or use mouth wash, it's always there.
Yes, bloody gums can be a symptom of sleep apnea, which can lead to gum disease.

Explanation
  • Inflammation
Sleep apnea can cause inflammation throughout the body, including the gums. This inflammation can lead to bleeding gums.

  • Mouth breathing
Sleep apnea can cause people to breathe through their mouths, which dries out the mouth and makes it easier for bacteria to grow.

  • Teeth grinding
People with sleep apnea often grind their teeth, which can loosen gum tissue and create pockets for bacteria.

That makes a lot of sense, actually. I have apnea, too, so might explain quite a bit!
