Do you freeze your vegetables and fruits to make them last longer, or do you prefer using fresh produce?
If you do freeze them, what’s the main reason for doing so?

i only freeze chocolates and lollies

I do not. :cautious:
I guess there’s no need to freeze anything if you actually use what you buy:)

Why not? It’s one way to always have some on hand :p

We freeze, can, and dehydrate what we grow in the garden.

I used to freeze a lot more produce in the past, but these days I mostly just freeze what I don’t think I’ll have time to use, mainly to avoid waste.
Some might say, “Why not just buy less?” But I don’t drive, and when I do get the chance to visit places like the farmers’ market or anywhere that has good deals, I tend to stock up .
I also like to freeze a few things when they’re in season and cheaper, to use during the months when they cost more. These days, I mostly freeze peppers, like bell peppers and banana peppers. They freeze really well and feel like fresh once defrosted.
Of course, I do freeze other things too, but I won’t list them all.:p Lately I usually prefer to prep full meals and freeze the actual dishes instead, so I don’t freeze as many individual ingredients anymore. Still, I always keep a few basics on hand, especially the ones I use all the time.

Don't fruits and veggies turn mushy when you freeze them

A lot of fruit will.

But mainly, you need to freeze things quickly, and keep them frozen, such as what happens at the commercial food processors that supply your local grocery store.

And quick freezing, and then minimal cooking will preserve most of the nutritional value in the vegetables.
