That's so sad. At one point everyone was jumping on the bandwagon.
Yep, but the reality of actually fulfilling those services can easily come back to haunt those that aren't fully prepared for it. It's a lot of work!

I believe there are only two forums now that offer post packages which is a shame. Everyone else seemed to fall off and close up due to not being able to get the staff.
I was the same with Promotion Addicts, wanted to keep it going but getting the staff was difficult and it would have resulted in me being the only person most of the time completing the packages which I do not feel many preferred.

Administrata also offers posting packages along with content packages for blogs.

I'd like to get into that with my new hosting forum, but I need a variety of posters. It would take paying them out of pocket. Maybe I could manage that this next month.

If possible, do it consistently, so you gain content + constant activity, which drives more users to join. (doing it once in a while doesn't work so well)
Well, first of all I need a phpBB credits extension, but the one available is abandoned, support-wise.
But I believe one recent forum got it working well.
