NEW: Rampage Jackson releases a statement after his son brutally beat a wrestler, reportedly sending him to the hospital.

Raja Jackson said he carried out the attack because he was tired of people “playin” with him.

In response to the incident, Rampage Jackson released the following statement: “I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable.”

“Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in the ring,i thought it was apart of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong.”

“Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL! He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact.”

“As a father, im deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery. I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation.”

I get you're following the Cornette philosophy that anytime something happens in another company that isn't WWE it's a outlaw mudshow or what have you, but from what I gathered, this company Is not at fault at all. The story, which wasn't reported at all in the links provided, was that the wrestler Rampage's kid assaulted had thought that it was an angle because they were filming and hit him with a worked punch involving a beer can. Apparently they shook hands afterwards and the plan was for him to get his payback later on in the show, as a segment. THats when you see him jump the guardrail and beat the fuck outta the guy. The said company's also been in business for 17 years and is affiliated with WWE under their ID program.

For the record, I slag everyone - WWE, AEW, TNA, NWA, etc., etc. - everyone, Dead. You should know that by now; as long as we've talked about wrestling both here and back from GWF, you should know how I think most times w/regards to wrestling. And yes, I am a big fan of Jim Cornette, warts and all; so what? Even I disagree w/some of the things he's said and done over the years and I've made clean when those times are.

My problem here, Dead, is that they brought in someone who's not a trained professional wrestler (yes I know Raja's an MMA fighter; different conversation there) to essentially do a wrestling storyline and the result was an aggravated assault that, given how the average non-wrestling fan views the business, will paint everyone - fan and competitor - with the same tired old Phil Mushnick-style dirty brush.

That makes it worse. Odds are, WWE's going to have a nice little chat with whatever the name of this promotion is because this is not something you expect from something affiliated with the evil Fed (to quote the average AEW fan's opinion of WWE most days).

Speaking of things owned by Tony Khan Florida Crackheads, how did Forbidden Door go tonight?

Stevie Richards talks about the disgraceful assault by Quentin "Rampage" Jackson's son Raja Jackson this past weekend at the Knokx Pro Wrestling promotion and training school co-owned by Rikishi and Black Pearl.

Syko Stu (Stuart Smith) had a minor altercation with Raja stemming from a misunderstanding earlier in the day. From there, Black Pearl (Reno Anoa'i) offered Raja a chance to work with Stu in a match later that night. After agreeing, Raja plotted (while streaming live on KICK) to take advantage of Stu in the ring for real, goaded on by his followers and even another wrestler (AJ Mana).

Come time, Raja slammed Stu to the canvas, knocking him out cold, then threw 21 unprotected punches to Stu'd face, causing multiple injuries, before somebody decided to intervene. Police were called and the LAPD are currently looking into what is clearly a premeditated assault.

Rampage Jackson, Knokx wrestling and others have already made public statements, but what's more unbelievable is that Rikishi's school is part of the WWE ID programme - although probably not for long. Even more incredibly, after the sustained beating where Stu remained unconscious for ane extended period of time, some other stupid wrestler climbed on top of him and the idiot referee counted the pin fall!

Who is to blame? Stevie investigates.

If it's scripted, it's a damn good work. If it's not, then damn does he need to be locked up!

I’ve been covering the fallout from Raja Jackson’s brutal attack in that California pro wrestling ring, and this time I wanted to get a legal perspective. So I sat down with my friend Patrick Donahue, a defense attorney in South Florida, to break down what charges Raja could actually face.

We talked about attempted murder vs. assault and battery, how consent plays into a case like this, and whether the promotion itself could be on the hook. Pat also explains how a defense lawyer might argue this in court, and what kind of jury could change everything.

Speaking of people who've forgotten more about the business of wrestling than either of us will ever know @Dead2009, there's Cornette's thoughts on the incident w/his co-host Brian Last. One comment from a viewer sums up the whole thing....
Comment in question: Those wrestlers in that promotion set that up. They wanted Stu to be beaten like that. It's why they didn't even try to break it up. Stu was out cold from the slam and got hit 20+ times while the pink mohawk guy (Doug) ran from the back of the room, jumping into the ring, and pulled Raja off him. The ref didn't try to break it up. The other wrestlers in the ring didn't try to. No other wrester.

In fact, if you watch the full video, multiple wrestlers were telling Raja to hit Stu for real when he runs in on the match. That was a conspiracy, by multiple other wrestlers, to use a lunatic who legitimately knew how to fight, to hurt Stu. Afterwards, these wrestlers informed the rest of the wrestlers in the promotion not to cooperate with the police investigation.

And to be honest, Stu seemed drunken himself at the beginning of the thing. I can't think of any other reason why he'd smash a beer can over the head of a guy he'd never met and doesn't even know the name of. No one involved in that was clean, except for maybe Doug. But man... did Stu suffer enough. Raja, Cowboy hat guy, that samoan guy, and a couple of others all need to be in prison. Raja for attempted murder. The Cowboy hat and rest for conspiracy to commit murder.

Stu has no friends there. I hope when he recovers, he realizes the wrestlers there are his enemies and he does not return. And I hope that promotion is shut down. Nothing about that situation was right.
