  1. Advocacy Group Warns "Race Based Medical Training" Will Result in "Race Based Care"

Without knowing the particulars of what they are proposing it is hard to say. But I agree that there is an issue when it comes to delivery of healthcare and steps need to be taken to address institutional racism. This isn't a problem that is unique to England, as we also have issues with it here...
  2. Should science in high school be optional?

Yes, I absolutely agree that sciences should be required at high school. I equally apply this to both the natural and social sciences as I think both are crucial to gain a solid foundation. I think a lot of issues which come about in conversations come from people lacking a foundational...
  3. RPGs or FPSs?

I easily prefer RPGs. Find them to be much more engaging and since I grew up preferring them, they have the whole nostalgic appeal to them too.
  4. XBOX or PlayStation? Choose one!

I have always preferred PlayStation, as their titles tend to be more appealing to me. With things like Fallout and Elder Scrolls, while I love those series, I can quite happily play them on PC. So don't need to get an XBox for them. Also this thread totally forgot the Switch.
  5. Too old to play video games?

I don't believe you can ever be too old to play games. With recent trends we are seeing gaming becoming much more accessible too. This applies both to an increase of accessibility options within games and a wider variety of platforms on which to play them. There have also been groups which have...
  6. Posting fatigue

Yeah, I think it would be fair enough to say that I get fatigue from posting. I was going to initially reply to this thread making the case that I didn't experience this. But when I reread what I had written, I had essentially just described exactly that, myself experiencing posting fatigue...
  7. What game are you playing?

    Which ones?😮😮
  8. Science Is Imploding Thanks To Politics...

Science and politics have always had a relationship with each other. That climate science has political implications and connections is nothing new. The nature of climate change and its geopolitical and historical connections mean that it is by definition going to be an incredibly politically...
  9. My fav type of learning material is ...

I definitely lean more towards books. Although the others can be quite helpful too.
  10. Combine two games into one?

Final Fantasy and Dynasty Warriors. I am already a fan of the Dynasty Warriors spinoffs and would love a Final Fantasy one!
  11. What game are you playing?

Bahaha, no idea how I missed this. 😂😂 I am now playing the Final Fantasy 2 Pixel Remaster. Just at the very start of the game.
  12. Pokemon GO

I never really played it much when it first came out, but a few weeks ago I downloaded it and started playing it. It helps that my two flatmates play it, so I will probably play it for the foreseeable future. It helps that it is quiet, since I can take gyms quite easily hahaha.
  13. Final Fantasy XIV

A few years ago I was really into the game for a few months. I even took like a month of paid leave off work and just played it the entire time essentially. Used to love playing as a scholar in dungeons. I was never really all that good at it. But I am still happy with myself that when I was...
  14. Last Game/Match Watched?

NRL Warriors vs the Sharks. 19min in and the Warriors are down 20 - 0. What followed was an amazing comeback with the Warriors winning 32 - 30!! :D :D

Yeah, that is definitely true. Although that is one thing I like about Palmy the public transport seems to be pretty good. The way the city is structured too makes getting around a lot easier. That really sucks though about how difficult it is there.
  16. Unemployment

I definitely remember those call times! When I was working part time and still had to deal with them, I tried ringing once over an hour before I had to leave to work. I ended up having to hang up while still on hold. 😬
  17. Yeah, I was fortunate I visited before the earthquake. I can't imagine what it would be like to...

Yeah, I was fortunate I visited before the earthquake. I can't imagine what it would be like to live through such devastation. It can be quite draining trying to travel around Auckland like that. I am fortunate I was too young when I lived there, and didn't really get an interest in malls till...
  18. Unemployment

Oh! Yes, that does sound familiar! I have a friend who is studying and he missed out on a communication regarding his student loan. So had to restart his application from scratch. That is really shocking.

I was only there until I was 12, but I do agree that it is really big. My family moved around a lot while I was growing up, there is so much variety and difference. Since then if I went it was usually for a very specific thing, so I didn't see much of Auckland at all. Christchurch is quite nice...
  20. Unemployment

I am not sure how bad it is now, since it has been so long since I have had to deal with either of them. But the absolute lack of communication between relevant areas of the MSD was atrocious. Although this can't be helped by the quotas that their staff are (were?) required to meet. That is...
