    Worst restaurant

I'm lucky that the restaurant that I currently work at only writes you up for this. Requiring the server to pay for what the guest doesn't is actually a pretty common practice, and it's pretty unfortunate.

    Tech gets physical

I'd be very surprised if it weren't vulnerable to breakages or wear-and-tear over significant use. This seems like a pretty interesting idea though. :D

Very nice! I love the intricacy in the setups. Very finely detailed.

Does he have carpel tunnel? That's insane. :P

Promotion Curve | Win Upto 150$

RE: Promotion Curve - A Curve for Promotion I like the theme used on the forum. Looks professional and is easy on the eyes.

Hackers are turning on your webcams

I have one on my PC, and I can say that I am glad that I am not a windows user. If I go back to using Windows regularly, I'll probably put some black tape or something over it just in case. I was a bit of a magnet for viruses back when I used Windows regularly. :P

A category of forums you think needs to be reinvented

I feel there is a fundamental problem with promotion forums that essentially, everyone is only there to promote. I was at one point deeply involved with a promotion forum, and it was a nice community to be a part of, but in the long run, it didn't do a whole lot of good. Nobody is there to join...

    Age Policy

If your website is owned or hosted in the United States, you are legally required to enforce the 13+ age requirement.

    Think you’re good with computers?

I almost think it's better to start young. Computer programming is a way of thinking in a lot of ways, and as with many other skills, it's a way of thinking that's easier to learn young. :P This kid seems pretty impressive. 14 years old and college aren't two things you often hear together.

Recent hackings, who fault is it!?

You should share the URL to the plugin that was vulnerable to warn other administrators. The team may add it to the vulnerable plugins list.

Recent hackings, who fault is it!?

1.6 isn't vulnerable to this particular SQL injection vulnerability. It's a vulnerability in the security questions feature that comes with MyBB 1.8, which was obviously not present in MyBB 1.6.x. :P As for subqueries, I had tried that as well just out of interest. I could have done something...

Recent hackings, who fault is it!?

I tried that on a test forum out of curiosity, but the SQL injection vulnerability is a little difficult to exploit because the query is complicated and the PHP/MySQLi driver doesn't support stacked queries with the default mysqli_query function that the MyBB uses. So, for example, using the...

Recent hackings, who fault is it!?

Well I did some quick research, and I'm wondering if it could be possible that one of the SQL injection vulnerabilities fixed in MyBB 1.8.2 may have been used to brute force weak passwords. You can't easily brute force MyBB without a vulnerability because it limits login attempts, nor can you...

    Hacked + Software Upgrade

I always check the code for plugins I'm using very carefully before I install them. I'm down to about six plugins on my forum, all of which are either self coded or reputable plugins. I will agree that when 40+ plugins are used, there is certainly a security risk though. I remember a promotion...

    Hacked + Software Upgrade

RE: Forum was hacked / Software Upgrade Was the "unknown location" a link? If it is, you can click it to see what page the IP is visiting. If it's just sitting there for hours, I almost wonder if it's a brute force script, but MyBB is pretty good about protecting from that stuff generally...

    Hacked + Software Upgrade

RE: Forum was hacked / Software Upgrade I have to wonder. I'm not sure what plugin it would be though. I know some people were hacked for insecure passwords, but these are probably just people with a little experience who can exploit various vulnerabilities. I know promotionzone.net (a once...

Can you go anywhere without a domain?

I don't want to talk about specifics, but I was involved in a forum a while back that was founded by someone with no prior knowledge whatsoever on a free forum host. It's no longer something I'm involved in as I've moved on personally, but it's now at 30,000 posts and is an active small...

    Hacked + Software Upgrade

RE: Forum was hacked / Software Upgrade I've managed to get some old 1.6 plugins working for 1.8 with fairly simple modifications. I'll agree that the selection for 1.8 is limited though. It seems a lot of good developers are leaving the community, but we have a few new ones coming as well, so...

    Hacked + Software Upgrade

RE: Forum was hacked / Software Upgrade Well, now I'm getting curious about this. Most of the forums I've heard that have been hacked have been a result of administrator's giving out admin information, but that's obviously not been the case here. Is there any chance it was plugin based? To be...
