Has anyone ever dabbled with 3D printers? I've always wanted to get one and just print out every collectible in existence but Im sure it'll be expensive.

I like modeling random things.

But do you use a 3D printer?

I have a friend who has had a couple of different ones, and I've thought about getting one. Except when I see what he's made with his, I don't see the point.

I really don't need "nick-knacks" and figurines made of plastic, the useful objects that he's made with his don't seem to last very long, and the replacement head he needed for one was expensive, as are the refill rolls.

My boyfriend has 3 of them. He loves them (for the most part) but each one of them he says is better for printing with different material. He has made a few 3D models and they seem really sweet. He even works on his own little projects and designs his own prints. I must say he is pretty good at it. He is constantly researching things though and how to do certain things.
