Do you follow the 5 second rule? If you drop food is it still edible or do you have to throw it away?

Depends on where I drop it. If it's not in my own home, I throw it away. Sometimes, however, I don't even get 5 seconds in my home to pick it up. My little dog, Louie, is right there and catches things before they even hit the floor. He's my little junk yard dog.

All depends on where I am and what it is that's fallen on the floor.
Usually it doesn't bother me too much.

I'll admit that I've followed the 5 second rule, but yeah if I'm out in public.. There is no 5 second rule! Public places are gross. :green:

I'm a redneck, heck I have a 3 minute rule lol

You eat food that's been on the ground for 3 minutes?
Well... I guess it's contaminated as soon as it hits the ground :P

What happens on the family table is if it falls on the table or the chair, then it's 5-second rule. On the floor, don't eat the food...throw away. If on the lap, eat it because there's no 5-second rule.

To prevent this from happening, don't eat like a pig.

It depends on where it falls. If it is in my kitchen or dining room, I usually eat food that I accidentally dropped on the floor, even after five seconds. In other places, I would probably throw it away...

I highly think that germs on food can actually affect one's health too much, considering that there are homeless people who eat from garbage cans and live till old age.

Makes sense to me!
