(The Guardian) Fifty migrants found dead inside abandoned Texas trailer truck
The Guardian’s Ashifa Kassam and Ramon Antonio Vargas report: Fifty suspected migrants were found dead and at least a dozen others were hospitalized after being found inside an abandoned tractor-trailer rig on Monday on a remote back road in south-west San Antonio, officials have said.

The discovery in Texas may prove to be the deadliest tragedy among thousands of people who have died attempting to cross the US border from Mexico in recent decades.

A person who works at a building nearby was alerted by a cry for help shortly before 6pm on Monday, police chief William McManus said. Officers arrived to find a body on the ground outside the trailer and a partially opened gate to the trailer, he said.

Initially, authorities said 46 of those inside the trailer were dead. But Mexico’s foreign minister, Marcelo Ebrard, said on Tuesday that 50 people were dead, including at least 22 from Mexico, seven from Guatemala, and two from Honduras.

At least 19 others who died has not been identified, Ebrard said. He added: “We’re in mourning. A huge tragedy. Mexico will join investigations in the US,” which are being coordinated by the US Department of Homeland Security.

We had a very similar happening over here a year or so ago with some Vietnamese migrants trapped in a trailer.
The driver and owners of the haulage co. got done for manslaughter as I remember.

found a reference here - BBC News/Essex lorry deaths

Whether you approve of migrants or not, these incidents are a horrible way for people to have lost their lives.

I suspect that won't be the case here, Steel Bat. Depending on who catches them first - Texas or the Feds - the question won't be if they're convicted but whether the sentence is life or death.

Not even 12 hours old and Gov. Abbott just had to go there....

Now imagine if we had a secure border and didn’t have a fake president who doesn’t give two shits about us. These people would have never died like this.

They are on Brandon. He alone is responsible for the state of our borders.
No, its' the fault of the cartels; Biden's an incidental reason for it.

There was a similar case back in 2017 in San Antonio and Abbott said squat about that; I wonder why...

Well because we didn’t have a administration purposely trying to keep the borders open so sex trafficking could continue

Ever stop to think people were doing such things before Biden and they'll continue it after?

How 'bout going after the johns as well?

This is the risk you take when you employ the services of criminals which is what these people who put those migrants into those trailers are. The blame lies solely on whoever was responsible for the trailer and the people in it. They made the choice of herding those people into that trailer and leaving them to die in it and should pay for it with whatever the law deems as fit for punishment.

The finger pointing going elsewhere(regardless if it is pointed at the left or right) really shouldn't be happening as it really doesn't matter who is in charge of the law as criminals such as these would still be making attempts like this one as they know there is good money in it hence why they offer such a service in the first place.

Not even close to the same when the top man is openly opposing secure borders while the prior one openly wanted closed borders and did everything within his power to make sure it is happening.

The blame goes much further that gave those people the opportunity to do what they did.

Doesn't matter; if Gov. Abbott wasn't willing to call out Trump over it, he doesn't get to call Biden for it either.
