9/11 - Where Were You?

In honor of the tragedy that took place on September 11th, 2001, tell us where you were when you heard about what happened.

I was in 1st period English class my last (senior) year of high school. Didn't do much learning that day, just watched the news.

I was a year old so I don't remember it at all.

Well I was 8 when it happened
I was at home or school when it happened
Sad day indeed

I was five back then and thought it was planned by a strange force.

I was...I think in sophomore year at my new high school. We were driving to my old high school to get my year book, and I was listening to the radio (Howard Stern, actually) and I thought it was a joke. So I turned the channel and other DJs were talking about it. We found a news station that was reporting it as it was happening. By the time we got home, the second plane flew into the second tower. We watched it happen on TV and it was terrifying.

I still remember watching it on the TV live...what sad memories.

I had taken the day off work to wait on the furnace repair guy.

When the second plane hit, I called my wife at her work to tell her the country was at war.

*dusts off thread* At home, caring for my mom. Had just woke up that morning and seen how damn clear and blue the sky was...then I saw the news on TV that morning....

I was waking up getting ready to go to school.

I remember I was in the 7th grade. I was in Algebra class that morning. The phone rang in class. The teacher answered it. Before the teacher turned on the television, she said America was under attack and not to panic. When she flipped on the channel. We saw people running in the streets, clouds of dust and debris everywhere. We saw the news going back and forth showing the towers get hit by the airline planes. Some of kids smiled and laughed in disbelief. Said it had to be hoax. That it couldn't be real. But we all knew that it was very real.

I was in middle school at the time and didn't know anything about it until my dad told me on the way home.

I called my wife at her work to tell her the country was at war.

Good thing we werent at war!
