but can anyone tell me how long you can have them open on a table before they start going soft?

trying to figure out if they need to be eaten straight away, or if their's some well.. I guess I'd call it breathing room

Experiment, Leave one on the table and see how long it takes for it to go soft.

If they (or most any chips) get stale or 'un-crunchy', I 'nuke' them for about 33 seconds. Good as new!

You have to eat them the same day you opened them.

If they (or most any chips) get stale or 'un-crunchy', I 'nuke' them for about 33 seconds. Good as new!

Works for popcorn too; don't think it would be a good thing to do with caramel corn, but plain popcorn without the goo - yes.
