Social experiment exposes how we react in awkward situation

Two Russian men, known on YouTube as NormelTV, conducted a social experiment in which random McDonald’s customers were asked to guard someone’s food while they visit the toilet.

But in his absence an actor posing as a homeless man wanders in and attempts to eat his food.

The experiment exposed an array of reactions from violent to peaceful.

How would you react to this awkward situation?

I haven't watched the video but from what was said of it, a man eating alongside you asks if you can watch his food while he uses the restroom and a homeless man attempts to steal his food. It then shows the reaction of the person watching the food as to what they do.

I don't know why anyone would give this man any food especially when he first attempts to steal it. To give him some would be justifying his attempt at theft as it would be different if he simply asked first instead of trying to steal it. You have no right to give away another person's food regardless of who is asking for it.

If I was in such a situation then I would simply move the food of the person who asked me to watch it closer to me so nothing can happen to it while I eat my meal and the guy is in the bathroom. This would prevent the "homeless" man from doing anything as there would be no way to grab it without me easily seeing and reacting to it before he even got close enough to grab it.

I would have waited for the person to come back from using the bathroom. Then I would buy a meal for the homeless man.

No one needs to steal to survive as no one needs to sin to live. I am more then willing to help those in need in the manner I am able to and by those who ask. I know the law does not look at your need as justification in breaking a law as the law doesn't work that way so why should I act differently?

Or was this flat out wrong?
