Abuse

Emotional abuse is any type of behavior that purposefully hurts the other person mentally. Some examples would be: yelling, blaming, name-calling, shaming and intimidation. Creating isolation around the victim is another form of emotional abuse. I think emotional abuse's purpose is to make the victim completely dependent on the abuser.

Physical abuse is a physical force or violence that results in bodily injury, pain, or impairment. It includes assault, battery, and inappropriate restraint. Some examples would be slapping, shoving, punching, biting, kicking and strangulation.

Physical abuse is certainly harmful, however, emotional and mental abuse can be just as bad. I sometimes think that emotional abuse is worse than physical. The emotional abuse can lead to a lack of self-worth. once a person feels worthless, that can lead to depression or thoughts of suicide.

Well, that's my two cents worth!

What do you consider emotional abuse and physical abuse?

Emotional abuse is the act of being verbally, and dominantly aggressive. Emotional abuse is when one says things to belittle and degrade the other, causing emotional distress, and it can also take form of preventing people from seeing family or friends, making threats and accusations, intimidation, refusal to be happy with anything, manipulation, gas-lighting (making the victim question their emotions and their memory, basically making them question their sanity), etc.

Physical abuse is any sort of hitting, pushing, holding down, gripping, scratching, biting, or aggressive behaviors that cause physical harm.
