What do you think of achievements and trophies and their prevalence in modern gaming?

Do you go out of your way to try and get 100% or platinum trophies if you're on PlayStation?

Do you think they distract from the gaming experience or enhance it? Or do you just ignore their existence?

What trophy or achievement are you most proud of?

I am from the mindset, if I get them cool, if not that's fine. It's not a bad thing that they are incorporated with gaming. I myself don't go out of my way to get them. I don't feel they distract from the experience.

I did platinum Final Fantasy XV and Tales of Arise, I guess that was okay. Lmao.

I think they are similar to trophies on forums. They are fun to get and give people something to work towards but at the end of the day they aren't really that important.

I enjoy them, since they're sorta like skill point systems in older games before trophies/achievements existed, and I'll generally try to get all of them if I enjoy the game enough and none of them are a real nuisance to get.

Sometimes going for them can be a detriment to my gaming experience, whereas at others it can improve the experience. On Playstation consoles I will typically look for a guide and roadmap to see if it falls within my limited skillset. If it looks achievable to me, I will give it a go. I am currently playing through the Klonoa remake going for the trophies. However if I play the game on Steam then I don't really care about achievements. I also enjoy that the Switch doesn't have an overarching system for that kind of thing at all. I do notice it changes how I approach the games too.

If I like the game, they're fun to get but overall I don't really care about getting them.
