Actor Danny Masterson sentenced to 30 years in prison

“That ’70s Show” star Danny Masterson was sentenced Thursday to 30 years to life in prison for raping two women more than two decades ago at his Hollywood Hills home.

Masterson, 47, displayed no visible emotion after Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo threw the book at him.


"Mr. Masterson, I know that you’re sitting here steadfast in your claims of innocence, and thus no doubt feeling victimized by a justice system that has failed you," Olmedo said just before dispatching Masterson to prison. "But Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here."

Masterson's wife, Bijou Phillips, a model and actress who was a constant presence at her husband's trials, quickly donned a pair of sunglasses after Olmedo announced the sentence and left the Los Angeles courtroom without a word.

Nice. Guess Scientology's losing some of their influence, even they couldn't get him out of this one.

The disappointing thing is that Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Kurtwood Smith, and Debra Jo Rupp (all also from That '70s Show) apparently all wrote letters to the judge requesting leniency in his sentence because they 'know his true character', apparently since he didn't rape them it's all good. Disappointing from Ashton & Mila especially considering he's been active in preventing child trafficking stuff and she just did a movie last year where she played a rape survivor who wasn't believed. Not a good look from any of them. Thank goodness for Topher Grace and former scientologist Laura Prepon.

Good I'm glad he's finally getting what he deserves! It's a shame it took this long, but thankfully he's behind bars now.

Agreed. They ended up having to put out a super fake apology video when they started getting backlash.

I also am inclined to believe that Danny had dirt on Ashton and that's why he submitted the letter/followup video with Mila who was likely involved in something even if it was for keeping a secret. All speculation of course but Topher KNEW what was going on this entire time with the way he distanced himself, it can't be a coincidence.
