Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) also known as naughty child syndrome.

What are your thoughts on this?

Do you think its real? Anyone have ADHD?

My brother has it. He is in his 30s now so its not affecting him so much but when he was a kid he was always bouncing off the walls. He had to take medication that he didnt want to take. Half the time he didnt.

He was in a special class during his whole schooling. He had some friends that had some severe emotional problems. Most of them killed themselves or others (and are now in jail).

Oh that's really crap.

Me (19) and my nephew (

both have adhd, before I really understood what it was we would clash all the time and he would try to stab me with knifes forks and hit me with spades....

He takes his medication and I don't but hes still the same while taking it.

I love it when I get hyper makes me happy, Still scares me when I get mad knowing what your doing but not being able to stop.

Tip for stopping the anger.

When you feel yourself getting hot and going to that other place try tensing your whole body as if your a dead weight.

Quite a few of my friends have it, and oh, it's real.

My best friend's brother had it, and I can definitely tell how it affects him. Some days he won't shutup and will be running everywhere, and some days all he does is sleep. One of my friends at school has it, and he seriously never shuts up. He's always hyper, where ever he is.

There was this kid in my class a few years ago who had it quite severely. He would just lash out at random times or if someone [unknowingly] said the wrong thing to him.

I got kicked out of college for lashing out at someone like that.

There was an Indian lad in my group and this lad was calling him and even hitting him.

I decided to draw a picture on the board in class to annoy him a little but he pushed a a chair and it nearly hit me and i just snapped.

Its scary when you flip out.

To understand what you're going through can you tell us what happens when you flip out?

My friend has this, he used to be quite aggressive to people and heavy handed. He is ok now though but he can get stressed.

I have a family member who has it. I haven't seen him in a while so I don't know how he's dealing with it...

When it happens to me I get really hot feel like somethings pulling me into the air while im spinning above my head and then I just start lashing out hitting anything and everything until I calm down.

Are there certain things that will trigger you to flip out? Have you ever injured yourself or others while in this state of mind?

When I was 8 I remember having this wire around someones neck trying to hurt him and his brother was stood behind me hitting me but I was just holding it. I think he called me a name.

Now I can control myself a lot better but still at time need to punch myself in the face to calm down.

Very strange i know.^^

Something as simple as the weather being too hot or not being a clean glass can make me angry.

I admire you Thom to be able to talk about this. It must be very difficult for you at times and scary as well. Have you tried medication? Just because medication doesn't work for everyone it doesn't mean it won't help you. Again, I thank you for talking about this so openly so that we can better understand ADHD.

I cant talk about it in person. Hope it helped some of you to understand about adhd.

I do think it exists, I also however think it's very over diagnosed.

Or its just a very common thing to have.
