Perhaps, I just think it's a cop out diagnosis to give someone when they come in with those symptoms when it could very well be some other condition and in some cases it is.

Yeah it's real, otherwise there wouldn't be doctors and medicine for it. I believe the biggest common misconception is that people with ADHD can not control their problem, but I have a friend who can control himself by taking his medicine and only being wild when he's allowed to be.
