Adopted a pet

Have you ever adopted a pet from an animal shelter?

Not from an animal shelter no but both my cats were abandoned.

Nope. We were given our dog from another friend who found her.

Not from a animal shelter, no. But we got our dog off someone who didn't want him.

we adopted our dog lucy from the Calgary SPCA place. we have now had her for 6 years and I LOVE my dog!

No.. I got my cat by looking in the newspaper, in the classified, and seeing an ad that said Free Kittens to good home. They had about 4 of them to choose from.. I picked the right one. He is so loving and well behaved. He understands everything I say to him too. I think he knows english sometimes.

Any other cats or dogs I ever had were obtained by my parents when I was younger and I never bothered to ask where they got the dog or cat from.

We've gotten a few dogs in the past from shelters. Not recently, though - all the shelters around here are at least an hour away, I think. :/



The older of our two cats is one we found abandoned. Christmas '07, we went down to a big memorial park in the next town over to take pictures because they always put up these big lights displays. We found two cats there and took them home. The one we still have is a boy, the other was a girl and we gave her to my great-aunt in '08 when she got pregnant.

I've adopted a couple of horses before from Redwings Horse Sanctuary.

Redwings, I havent heard about that place in years!

We used to adopt a horse from there too, many moons ago!
