Hey guys,



Whats happening? Thought I'd say hi, introduce myself a bit....



Well, I'm Andrew/Icarus/Ice/Iccy, depending on what you wanna call me at the time. I'm 17, Christian and from New Zealand (Great place, you should all come here!).



I'm a bit of a web geek, lot of experience with vBulletin, I love Photoshop and my CS4 suite, and add that all together and you have one fairly crazy forum obsessed nutter.

Yeah I have a 3.x test board and a 4.x test board.. Going to get familiar with everything before I make any changes.. Wouldnt be good to have an admin who doesnt know what he is doing.

How are you finding the ACP's? Nicer than phpBB?
 
WAYYYYYY more features and control over every minor detail.
 
Sure does. Just wait till you start adding some hacks into it. Then things get bigger and better and even more fun! (But you do get some rather unique problems too....

Having fun with your skinning? Two very different systems between vB3 and vB4 - everyone shifting to vB4 is reskinning frantically atm.

Skinning is confusing.. Although its nice to not have to use an ftp program.. Well for edits that is.. You still have to upload some images and what not..
 
Skinning can be a pig. Have you had a play with the vB.org skins yet? Some of them you can get and just modify to your needs without having large footer notices, etc - and they come with images and stuff too. (Hallelujah!) Nothing worse than designing a bunch of forum icons that don't quite fit with your skin.

Are you looking for one quite similar to this one when you switch to vB? 'Cause vB4's default skin is reasonably similar... However, there's also some vB4 look-a-likes for vB3 out there too I think
 
The one here on the phpbb forum?

Uh.. I might try to see if I can find a skin similar to it and make some alterations.
 
Yeah, that's the one i was meaning. It's a smooth looking skin, btw - one of the nicest phpBB ones that I have ever seen (and this coming from someone who normally dislikes phpBB skins!)
