So many victory speeches, can hardly keep track! wooohoooo!!! AMEN!!

The first celebration started with this song below -- how very apropos! Whoever picked out this election night tune was right ON, we didn't expect that... but loved it just the same and got to kick out some jams! Perfect! Thanky!

From sea to shining sea, goodness overcame evil on this voting day! All the beautiful Americans who voted to fight terrorist apologists and socialists --- God bless you and thank you! WE WON!!! The party goes straight through the weekend, be there! XOX

A beautiful day in history!!! And you were there ... bringing real hope back! xox

There are no socialists in our legislative body. That is the fact.

I listened to Rand Paul's victory speech, it was filled with logical fallacies and nonsensical talking points.

Today we take a step backward, Republicans have said nothing but no and have proposed virtually zero ideas for solving anything and won the election. It is simply based off of luck and the boom and bust cycle of the capitalist system. Dems retain control of the senate, a few crazies were voted in by Republicans, nothing much has changed.

Cinnamon, what exactly do you mean by real hope?

So um... since I really don't follow Politics all that much. What exactly am I missing here?

GOP Gains Historic 60 Seats; Largest Midterm Gain Since WWII

.... and back to bed for me - a little too much champagne for this lightweight infidel. The victory parties go thru Sunday afternoon; I can't miss a one, I've waited for this for two long sorry years!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY EVERYONE! LOVE AMERICA! XOX

What's there to love about America now?

The US fucked over our economy and now it's going to get worse again because of this.

How about our freedoms, the men and women who fight for us, the foundation our country was built on..etc.

America may not be the best place in the world but there are far worse places one could live.

Go USA!

Whether you have freedoms and people fighting for you or not, the way this is going we'll all end in the same gutter anyway. It's really unfortunate for the rest of the world that the US is such an influential country.

EDIT:

@ smooth (sorry didn't see your post before) -

The start of our economical crisis was because of the crash of the banks in the US, which could have easily been prevented by the government, but the republicans are for the free market principle which means no interventions and regulations by the government.

And now because of the results today, there will be a political block for another 2 years which will not help the economy at all. I don't believe in free market, I don't believe that the economy will magically restore itself and I've seen first hand how that affects the outside world.

And that's only the economical side of things. In the mean time there will also be no new climate policy, making it very difficult for other countries who don't want the destruction of the earth for just a few years of easy wealth.

I could go on, but I think I've made my point when it comes to the international consequences of this victory.

Evidently, the majority of those who voted yesterday didn't like higher taxes and bigger government during a recession.

But of course, that means that they are all knuckle dragging mouth breathing imbeciles who hate Obama just because he's Black and think the sun rises and sets on Rush Limbaugh.

Lmao don't think you know anything about my political preference. Categorizing everyone like that just makes you extremely narrow minded, there are a lot of other political views that aren't represented in the 2 large US parties.

No.

I just was rather amused by Rand Paul's speech... he's trying to tell me that having government stop doing anything is going to help the economy.

And on the taxes thing.... the only difference between Obama's tax plan and the idiotic Bush tax cuts is that the incomes from 200,000 - 1mil a year (individual) would receive a slightly lower tax cut on average and individuals making over 1mill a year would receive a much smaller tax cut. Economists invariably agree that the Bush tax cuts have absolutely no supply side effect and they make up nearly half of our current deficit. There is no reason to extend the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%.

Actually it isn't. Just because you don't support laissez faire capitalism (which is irrational at this point in economic theory) doesn't mean you are a democrat and doesn't mean your opinions can be disregarded.

The same group of Republicans that ruined the United State's financial system under Clinton are also responsible for the global recession.

Bigger government would help btw, at least in terms of spending. Although I'm curious as to what you are referring to when you say bigger government? I know the bureau of consumer protections was created by the financial reform bill... but what else? It's nothing compared to the explosion of government spurred by George W. with his department of homeland security etc.
