(The Guardian) Climate change is a national security issue, says PM
Anthony Albanese is going through what has been done and what the agenda is moving forward: Climate change is a national security issue. That is well understood throughout the world, but nowhere more so than with our Pacific neighbours. And when we met at the Pacific Islands Forum just a couple of weeks ago, our changed position was included in the communique and it was very much welcomed going forward. And it has made an enormous difference.

As well, we have dealt with the challenges that come to government and one of those is, of course, the consequences of having a decade of inaction on energy policy means we’ve had a decade of failure of investment in new, clean energy, because how can you invest ... when you don’t have any going forward, when there is no policy framework?

Business has been crying out for that framework but we’ve had to deal with the consequences of that inaction and Chris Bowen has done a remarkable job in dealing with a challenge.

They gotta do what's right for themselves, who are we to judge?
Stupid is stupid, these idiots between this and several countries attempting to ruin farming are going to create a true famine with people slowly starving to death.

So, in other words, we should just keep doing what we're doing, never mind the potential damage to the environment in the process. After all, people gotta have a little scratch in their pocket; as long as they do, its' good right?

Yes we keep doing what we are doing and we do reasonable measures to keep the air and water we breath clean not create something that could cause a chain reaction that would lead to a world famine.

You know. I think its' down to corporate greed and overpopulation to meet demand. I've been watching this documentary called "Rotten" and those corporations like Nestle, Crystal Sugar, and avocado companies are destroying whole eco systems making products and selling them. Water companies are really doing a shit load of damage. They go around making these wells and they're sucking up all of the water in an entire area and then bottling it. No wonder why we're facing issues today with our climate.

But it seems it’s easier going after farmers that feed the world than go after corporations paying off politicians to leave them to their awful practices.

Anything that doesn’t negatively impact a business where it risks a business. Anything that takes away individual rights.
IOW, I was right earlier. As long as business is making money, screw the public then.

Got it, thanks.

Absolutely! Money is the very most important thing for a family that is working on a farm that feeds millions.
