You're right about this, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way, including me.

Ok to answer also. There are a lot of things I always get, but most are things I really need.
One thing I wouldn’t say is essential, but I always get when I run out, are plain biscuits (cookies) to have at home.
As for things I get with almost every shop, bleach is a must. I use a lot of it for cleaning.
