I dated a guy that has a sniffer dog. The training process is truly amazing to watch. He and his sniffer dog work the border. They have found drugs that the regular border patrol officers (without a sniffer dog) would have easily missed due to where the drugs were hidden in the vehicle.

I spent several years working with officers who handled police K-9s.
