America's Shady Elected Judges System

I'm of two minds after watching the above video...on the one hand, we want judges to be accountable, just as we want elected officials to be accountable. But, on the other hand, we want judges to adhere to the law as it is written, not as the voters will it...and having elected judges is not healthy in a representative democracy for the simple fact that if a judge has to worry about pleasing the voters, that judge is very likely to skew their decisions so as to appease the fickle bigotries of the voting public.
Question:
Would you rather have corrupt judges elected by nitwit uninformed voters, or appointed by other corrupt elected officials (say, Governors and Presidents)?
