Meaning: The notion that for every wrong done there should be a compensating measure of justice.

Do you think that if a person found guilty of taking another life should be put to death in the same manner that he/she took that life? Do you think this type of an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth punishment would deter acts of murder?

Well, it sounds like a nice idea, but it's not very constructive

No-one'll know if it'll deter people from murdering others. The murder may like pain.

I don't actually know, really, where I stand. I think the only way this could happen is if, and I hope this doesn't happen, it happened to someone I know.

What exactly is the point in punishing someone for something that you will wind up doing yourself? It turns the people into the savages they claim they aren't when they have such rule of law in place.

Besides it won't solve anything anyways because if the death penalty doesn't work then what would becoming the monster you claim to hate would solve?

Just getting walked on to many times and now I think differenetly about alot of things. This subject included.

By the way, As for detering people, it doesnt. That has been proven in history.

Alot of murders are not planned they just happen anyway.

What about miscarriages of justice? Innocent people put to death for something they didn't do. Miscarriages happen more often than we like to think.

In my opinnion. death Penatly should only be given to those that are proven to be guilty of theyre crime.

By the very definition of the word murder, a murder must be planned.
