I don’t know who this guy is but buddy I don’t even want to see a straight romantic comedy movie, no guy does!! And I only go because I love my straight wife. So no I don’t want to see your romantic comedy movie. Fuck this asshole and hope it’s a flop and your career is over!!!

Eichner, 44, launched an angry social media screed late Sunday, telling “everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo” to get out and get into theaters to support his effort. “Last night I snuck in and sat in the back of a sold-out theatre playing Bros in LA,” he wrote. “The audience howled with laughter start to finish, burst into applause at the end, and some were wiping away tears as they walked out. Really. I am VERY proud of this movie.”

He then scolded: “Even with glowing reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore, etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for Bros. And that’s disappointing but it is what it is.”

Eichner told “everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo” to go to see Bros. Eichner, a multi-millionaire in his own right with a net worth of close to $5 million, is the first openly gay man to write and co-star in his own major studio film. Eichner chose, however, to sell America on his film by repeatedly attacking half her citizens. Last January, he said “Fuck Trump, fuck his whole family, fuck anyone that chose to work with him and fuck every single Trump voter. And guess what – I’m STILL with her you misogynist American dummies!!! Onwards.”

FWIW, he's not wrong; I mean, given the dreck that are most films out of Hollywood (the Expendables series, anyone?) I often wonder just how dumb and moronic the American movie-goer can be sometimes...and as a gay man, I'm frankly glad they threw the "traditional" rom-com movie formula out the window.

Funny thing, though: the movie will make its' pound of flesh in the end. Not through theatres, though, but through streaming services and downwind DVD/Blu-Ray sales.

It is telling, though, how much straight people freak out whenever gay people and/or gay themes are featured prominently in cinema; you'd think given how successful past LGBTQ-related media such as Queer as Folk, The L Word, Tales of the City, etc., have been (and in L-Word's case, still are) they'd realize that (a) there is such a market and (b) people even today will still pay to see good cinema.

FWIW, he's not wrong;

Oh this idiot is wrong. If I have to suffer like some Christian nailed to a cross and go see some stupid romantic comedy I better at least see a pretty woman in the film throughout.

Don’t mess with some my most loved action movies.

I want dumb fun movies for escapism to enjoy my popcorn for two hours.

That’s fine enjoy! I hope it’s your favorite movie of all time but when idiots like this attack people because we don’t want to see it you ain’t getting people on your side. I don’t want to read subtitles in movies doesn’t mean I hate French people?? I mean Japanese people better example 😆.

Funny thing, though: the movie will make its' pound of flesh in the end.

I hope it makes every person who sees it full of joy.

Not through theatres, though, but through streaming services and downwind DVD/Blu-Ray sales.

Enjoy it in your collection.

I don’t want any romantic themes of any couples in a movie I just spent 50 dollars on a movie! I want explosions, I want fight scenes, I want terrible one liners and a few scenes with tits and ass for my movie experience.

And good luck to them in a fantastic capitalist society they hate so much.

Ever see The Last Temptation of Christ? Pretty good movie but God it still gets crap to this day so you can stow the concern...

If dreck like The Expendables is your idea of an action film.....ugh, where's Axel Foley when you need him?
I want dumb fun movies for escapism to enjoy my popcorn for two hours.
No argument there.
Enjoy it in your collection.
It'll go right next to Miami Vice and both 2001 and 2010.

To each their own.
And good luck to them in a fantastic capitalist society they hate so much.
Hey, we didn't make the rules but we're damn sure gonna play the game by them.

To each their own.

Exactly, exactly! and you ain’t a racist for it.

Hey, we didn't make the rules but we're damn sure gonna play the game by them.
But yet without it they wouldn’t even be able to suggest such a movie
