Do non-human animals have rights?

In some country's yes, in others, no. Which i find rather sad, since anything living, which has a mind and can feel pain should have some sort of rights.

I think animals should have almost equal rights to humans. I hold them in such high regard (and in fact, some animal lives are worth more than some human lives, so there you go).

animals have the right to not be harmed unnessecarily (I have no idea if I spelt that right). you wouldn't beat a child, so why beat an animal? it's the same kind of deal, but worse. at least a child knows how to speak and can tell someone what's happening. an animal can't.

If I were in a situation where an animal and a person were in life threatening danger and could only save one, I'd save the person.

How is it silly? It's how i feel about these sort of things and you should respect that.



and if i were in that same situation, i would save the animal, animals are helpless, they do nothing wrong, yet people think it's right to murder them for their own pleasure, it's not right and i don't believe it is.

That has nothing to do with their life being more valuable than a human being's.

Animals would only kill if they are in danger, most of the time, but humans, kill for their own pleasure.



Either way, i value a Animals life over a humans. That's how i feel, and nothing will change that.

No animals will kill and eat people, depending on what kind of animal it is. We kill animals for food as well. Its the food chain.

I never said i would let my family die, so i don't know where you are getting that idea from. I don't see how it's said, it's how i feel, so get over it.

One or the other situation, you couldn't even say you'd put your own family over an animals life.

Animals should be treated fairly but when it comes down to it, they are just animals. An human life should be put before a creature who's only instincts are to eat, poop, and sleep. Whoever would let a person die just to save an animal has their priorities screwed up in my opinion.
