A couple of cities around New Zealand have been asking for public input about allowing animals on public transport so it's made me wonder what others would think of it?

What are your thoughts on allowing animals on public transport and what are your thoughts especially when public transport is busy and say someone needs a seat but it's taken by someone's pet.

Good question!

Seems like it's a no-brainer that REAL service animals.....namely dogs trained to assist blind people....should be allowed. Other than that, yeah, I think there do need to be rules in place.
You don't want somebody's friendly mastiff running around slobbering all over everyone. Or someone's nippy little chi-chi taking a bite out of everyone.
Yeah, good question...and if it's anything like here, you just know that there are going to be rule-breakers.
:dontknow:

Unless they're a service animal, nah, no animals should be allowed on public transportation.

As long as the animals are secure and not causing any harm, there shouldn't be a problem with them on public transport.
It’s great for pet owners who need to get around with their animals.

From my experience most of what use the city buses around here are animals.

There's been a few dogs and a cat or two, but the two legged animals wearing baggy pants or yoga outfits with too much perfume are the problem.
