Annoying coworkers

I've been blessed with pretty cool co-workers. I think the thing that I find most annoying is when they don't let me know when they're struggling with something, particularly on matters that I can help with. Every week it's like pulling teeth getting them to tell me what they're having difficulty with whenever I have to bring up lack of performance. It's either they genuinely aren't aware of their shortcomings or it's simply due to pride. In the end I'm glad that they generally take my advice even if most of the time it's unsolicited.
I have a coworker that runs around telling everyone how busy he is and how he has so much to do. I offer to help him all of the time but when I do he has nothing for me to do. When I work with him I would get a few jobs done and he is still working on his first one and walking around telling everyone he is so busy.
I have great co-workers as well, though one can be late often and just be a sloth at a lot of things.
I think gossip is the most annoying thing. It's irritating when people are always talking badly about other people. It makes me wonder what they say about me when I'm not around.
Where I work, a coworker got fired for gossiping. The best part is they were saying something bad about the boss and didn't realize the boss was standing right behind them. LOL!
The problem I've had working with people at my work place is that they aren't your friends and shooting the breeze with them is a complete waste of time. They like to talk a lot of shit and try to get people fired. I've been on the receiving end of that a few times.
