Should the person creating a question thread on a forum provide their own answer (to the question they're asking) in the same (1st) post?

Should it matter?

If it's a 'forum member person', maybe that's a good idea.

If it's a 'robo'.....not necessarily.

If it's worth the time to create a thread.' it's worth the time to give an answer. doesn't really matter

Most people don't from what i see . I used to answer in the past at the first post now mostly i avoid it but i always make sure to answer later .. a reason i will open a thread i know a little about it ..

I think it doesn't matter. The point of creating a thread is to generate conversations, if that has occurred then mission accomplished. Also people ask questions on forums because they want to see what other people think on a topic, after some opinions and answers are thrown out there, then they might come back and have more fully formed / more well thought out answer to the question they asked.

I don't really think it matters. I go back and forth on whether I'll do it based on how I feel at that moment. Lots of times I'll just post the questions and leave that as the OP base post for everybody else and then come back later and answer on my own (after other people have already, not double posting or anything).
