What's a good free anti-virus program?

AVG is also nice. You may also want to check out Bitdefender. Right now I'm currently using a paid subscription and I'm not disappointed.

But don't pick McAfee.. trust me, it's terrible (used both free and paid).

Malwarebtyes
is good i mean really good never had problem
Comodo Internet Security just over kill
and Microsoft Security Essentials/Window Defender(both from MS) Just terrible

Comodo antivirus, much better and lighter for OS than Avast, and also free.

For me I use AVG. It's well known and does the job.

I'm currently looking around for some new Anti Virus software. I don't mind if it's paid or free, I just want something that's good.
Are the ones recommended above still the best around?

AVG, Avast, Kaspersky, Malwarebytes are all ones I've had good luck with.

I like Avast or AVG. Paid wise though I use Bitdefender. It has never failed me have been using it for two years. Great stuff and very reliable :)

I use a combo of Avast and malwarebytes. Seems to do the trick, haven't had any problems yet.

Best combination. I don't use an AV. I don't do any downloading and if I do, I scan online.

I've been using Norton for years. Best thing I've ever used.

I've had bad luck with Norton. I got hacked really bad a few years ago with Norton. So I haven't used it on any other computer since.

A good free antivirus uh? Qihoo 360 Internet Security is a good free AV! Avira is also a very good AV. Ive used them both and i have to say that Qihoo 360 internet security is one of the best free antiviruses i have tried. Here is my rating's on free AV's

1# Qihoo 360 Internet Security.

2# Avira.

3# Panda Cloud.

4# Avast.
