Which do you prefer? Apologize first or wait for someone to say sorry to you?

I'm usually the first person to apologize to somebody, even if it's something that I shouldn't be apologizing for -- Like if it was THEIR fault. I'd rather just apologize, fresh water under the bridge, then let anything ill-feelings fester. That causes drama, and we don't need anymore drama in our lives!

Which I prefer? I guess it depends on the situation.
But it usually ends up being me. I have an 'apology problem'. I'll be saying sorry to people over the smallest things until they stop me.

I don't like it when people use apologies, thinking that's the end of it and everything's sorted.
While they keep doing the same thing repeatedly. Especially when they don't genuinely mean it.
I prefer to see actual changes instead of just getting an apology.
To me, it's worse, it tends to make me angrier. Simple gestures, on the other hand, are a different story.

I have no problem with apologizing first, regardless of whether or not I am in the wrong.

But if someone apologizes to me, then I'd rather that they state why they are doing so, as some just do it and don't mean it. At least if they say why, then it makes it more genuine..

It depends on the situation. If I am definitely in the wrong, then I try to use maturity and level head especially if I don't want to ruin the relationship I have with that person. I will apologize first.

But... If I DID NOTHING wrong, then I can be stubborn and I will fight my postion, idc. I will stand my ground!

I like to give the situation time to settle a bit and then I usually approach first. I don't like confrontation, generally, so whether I was wrong or they were, I try to sort the situation out sooner rather than later.

If I did something to hurt or offend even if that wasn't my intention, I will apologize. No problem.
If the other person, people, were in the wrong I don't really care if they apologize or not. I'm not holding my breath. That's for the non-empathic people.

Depends on the situation. I have apologized for things I didn't do and found out it didn't work either. I usually don't care about people apologizing or not, as long as they change their behaviour; there's an exception where someone said "we *had* both apologized" but she never had, meaning all the hurt she caused me was "the right thing to do"... There... Well... I know I'll never get an apology, but, I can't let that go just like that.
