The release date for iCloud and the new operating system was confirmed last week at Apple's 'Let's Talk iPhone' event. At the same event, Apple launchedthe iPhone 4S, which is released on Friday.

iOS 5, which Apple contains more than 200 new features, brings significant changes to the way the operating system handles notifications. It also bringsnew services, such as iMessage, which allows iOS users to message each other, free of charge, and Twitter integration across a range of apps. It is compatible with the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and 3GS, as well as with iPad, iPad 2 and recent iPod touch models.

iCloud is Apple's new cloud storage service. It backs up the iPhone, iPad oriPod touch and allows users to seamlessly share documents, emails and photosbetween devices, including Apple's Mac computers and laptops.
